Lemongrass Room Spray
Cymbopogon, also known as lemongrass, barbed wire grass, Cochin grass or Malabar grass, is a genus of plants with over 50 species in the grass family known as poaceae. Its a tropical grass with a powerful, citrus scent. Not a whole lot different than (its cousin) citronella, and also similar to lemon but lemongrass is slightly different in the way it has a much sweeter scent… to me, it smells like fruit loop cereal.
About this Recipe
By: Jennifer Shelhart
Mist the room, spray your pillow, use it as a parfume. It’s super easy. All you need is a spray bottle. I like to use a fine mist sprayer or atomizer but that’s just my preference. Use what you have on hand Try not to buy something for this if you don’t have to.
10 Drops Lemongrass essential oil
2 oz Distilled water
1 T vodka or brandy if desired
If you are going to keep this on a shelf, I recommend adding 1 t vodka, brandy, or rubbing alcohol to keep it shelf stable a little longer. This step is not usually necessary for such a small batch so it’s up to you whether you feel the need to ad it.
You aren’t even going to believe how easy this is.
Add all ingredients into your spray bottle and shake well.
That’s it folks! Its really that simple!
